Flip Aguilera is the founder of Self Defense Academy COS, a jiu-jitsu school in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Since opening in 2022, Flip has built one of the city's most distinctive training environments — one grounded in the Valente Brothers Method and the belief that real self-defense has nothing to do with trophies or tournaments.

As the only instructor in Colorado Springs authorized to teach the 27-lesson Fighting Foundations™ curriculum, Flip brings a rare combination of technical lineage and personal mission to every class. His students train in the traditional kimono and live by the 753 Code — a philosophy built on Spirit, Body, and Mind that goes well beyond what happens on the mat.
